Even though sales in the domain of immunity supplements have fallen, the decline is gradually lessening. Haleigh Resetar, SPINS’ Corporate Communications Specialist, anticipated a continued drop in the category’s sales, albeit not as drastic as previously witnessed post the pandemic rush.
Many manufacturers, vendors, and retailers are copiously supplied with immunity products owing to their mass purchases during the pandemic peak. This double-edged sword is a sentiment resonated by Leslie Gallo, Artemis International’s president, and other industry professionals. However, Gallo posits that this situation doesn’t negate the importance of immune support but rather sparks a need for inventive approaches.
Recent data from a survey by Kerry Group asserts the top health priority for respondents across 16 countries and 13,000 individuals is immunity support. Yet, the understanding of what constitutes healthy immunity support is shifting amongst consumers.
The downturn in category sales can be credited to the evolving consumer mindset. They see supporting immune health as broader than just utilizing standard products.
